Mr Raman Chopra, CFO & Executive Director – Finance of GHCL Ltd., heads the Finance, Secretarial, Taxation and IT functions of the company. Prior to his induction into the Board of Directors of the company in April 2008, Raman had functioned as the CFO and earlier as Sr. Vice President – Home Textiles in GHCL.

Raman brings over three decades of experience in finance and business management, with strong financial acumen, exceptional negotiation skills and a keen interest in integrating technological advancements to improve business processes. His experience across various aspects of financial management, business planning and execution has been instrumental in structuring several high-value deals and strategic initiatives for the organisation. A mentor by nature, Raman always finds time to groom and develop others, not only within the finance function but also across other streams of management.

In his previous role as Sr. Vice President – Home Textiles, Raman took overall responsibility for setting up GHCL’s home textiles plant, leading the project from identifying the land for the plant site through to the start of commercial production. The project, completed within the stipulated time and cost parameters, stands testimony to his strong project management and execution skills.

Prior to joining GHCL in 2003, Raman had worked for around 15 years in Dalmia Group’s corporate office, where he was responsible for evaluating the financial performance of group companies, working on new projects and supporting key business initiatives.

Raman is a rank holder in Chartered Accountancy, an avid sports lover and a regular reader. Despite his demanding professional responsibilities, he continues to make time for both.
