GHCL Foundation

GHCL’s commitment towards the development of weaker sections of society has been a continuous initiative for more than two decades. Through its “GHCL Foundation Trust”, GHCL has upgraded its CSR activities to cover a larger section of the society to provide support to the downtrodden, needy and marginalized citizens and also to create a social infrastructure for their sustenance.

  • GHCL through its CSR initiatives will continue to enhance the value creation in the society and in the community in which it operates through its services, conduct initiatives, so as to promote sustained growth for the society and community in fulfilment of its role as a Socially Responsible Corporate with environmental concerns.

Objective

  • To ensure an increased commitment at all levels in the organization, to operate its business in an economically, socially, & environmentally sustainable manner, while recognizing the interests of all its stakeholders
  • To take initiatives, directly or in association with other organizations, and organize programs that benefit the communities in and around its areas of operations to enhance the quality of life and economic wellbeing of the locals.
  • To generate, through its CSR initiatives, a community goodwill for GHCL and help reinforce a positive & socially responsible image of GHCL as a corporate entity.

Education & Skill Development

Our interventions are directed at two levels viz. school and skill building to improve employment opportunities. At school level we intend to promote quality of education and learnability amongst rural kids. Under vocational training we impart necessary skill sets amongst rural and tribal population which can reduce possibility of migration and make them employable in areas close to their homes.

Healthcare

In alignment of Sustainable Development Goals (No 3: Good Health and Wellbeing), we extend primary health care services in the communities of our operation. We run Mobile Health Care, Health Camps, and Specialized Cancer Check Up Camps (For females) in nearby villages. Necessary support and help is also extended for advanced diagnosis and treatment wherever identified.

Agro & Animal Husbandry

Our interventions are directed towards improving the farmer’s incomes and resource efficiency. It includes promoting environmental friendly and nature based solutions to enhance productivity of farming activities. It covers capacity building on farming techniques, provision of high quality seeds/manure, efficient irrigation solutions, etc. While Animal Husbandry efforts are directed towards improving milk yield through better cattle management practices.

GHCL Foundation believes in a multi-stakeholder approach in designing and implementing CSR projects to promote ownership, convergence and sustainability of projects. Many long lasting projects have delivered the desired objective and minimized dependence on GHCL with an ownership of relevant stakeholders including the beneficiary community. Themes chosen for our CSR projects are derived out a formal need assessment process and are undertaken in areas where we want to build capacity of the community to be self-reliant and independent.
